As an undergraduate I studied health psychology. I was especially interested in understanding people's behaviors and attitudes towards their health. I considered graduate studies in both health education and social work, but chose public health so I could combine my interest in health education and working with communities. I earned my masters in public health from the George Washington University where I focused in health promotion and disease prevention. I have been with the University of Medicine and Dentistry School of Public Health-Office of Public Health Practice for three years. My projects are varied but the focus of my work is in workforce development. I have learned that a great way to promote health and affect change is by being active in my local community.
