Public Health Associations' Collaborative Effort (PHACE)

PHACE, the Public Health Associations' Collaborative Effort, is comprised of the leadership of New Jersey's seven recognized public health associations (New Jersey Health Officers Associations, New Jersey Enrironmental Health Associations, New Jersey Association of Public Health Nurse Administrators, New Jersey Socieity of Public Health Educators, New Jersey Local Boards of Health Association), with representatives of the New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services as liaisons. PHACE was formed in December 2006 for the purpose of bringing the various New Jersey governmental public health associaions, and the disciplines and entities they represent, together to form a single voice and face of public health in New Jersey. It is an effort to bring down silos and buld a less fragmented public helath system in New Jersey. The Mission of PHACE is "to provide a forum wherein all publc health discipliine are equally represented, via the leadership of the recognized New Jersey public health associations, to foster a single voice and face for the advancement of public health in New Jersey." The first goal of the effort is to develop public health collaborations and one of the objectives of this goal is to planand implement an annual conference that is inclusive of all public health organizations.

The first annual conference sponsored by PHACE aims to develop collaborations within New Jersey's public health community, faciliate networking between public health professionals that typically do not interact, and to bring together these professionals to learn about and discuss issues common to all in order to advance the public health system in New Jersey and ultimately have a postive impact on public's health.

The full day conference is schedule for Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Mercer County Community College, West Windsor, NJ. More information will be forthcoming. Please hold the date!
